It’s that time of year, where you put up your Christmas tree, sit by the fire and drink a cup of coffee. This is the best vegan gingerbread latte and will warm your soul on a cold winter night. Rich espresso, ginger, cinnamon and sweet maple syrup make up this gingerbread latte. This healthy latte is our go-to latte through the cold winter months, especially around the holidays.
What’s the inspiration behind the Vegan Gingerbread Latte?
During the holidays we love going to Starbucks and picking up a Gingerbread Latte. We love the strong ginger and spice taste that’s in their gingerbread latte, but after seeing how much sugar and other additives there was in Starbucks’ latte, we knew we had to create our own.
We decided to experiment and create the best vegan gingerbread latte out there. Seriously, we drink this every day leading up to the holidays, because it’s so delicious and cozy.
What’s in the Recipe?
Espresso: Using delicious and high-quality espresso is a necessity to make this gingerbread latte super delicious. We love to use this brand of espresso. It’s high-quality and made by one of the best roasters in America.
Ginger: Ginger is the key ingredient to this gingerbread latte. It gives the latte a ginger flavor and compliments the sweet maple syrup so well.
Vanilla bean paste: This ingredient not only adds a sweet flavor to the vegan gingerbread latte, but it adds a little smoother flavor to balance out the strong ginger flavor.
Maple Syrup: The maple syrup adds a rich sweetness to the vegan gingerbread latte. We prefer adding maple syrup to this latte, because it compliments the other flavors in the latte.
Almond Milk: This is what makes the recipe dairy free and vegan. We prefer using almond milk in our lattes. It foams nicely in our espresso machine. If you don’t have a milk frother attached to your espresso machine, this milk frother has incredible reviews and will froth your almond milk so perfectly.
What Makes this Latte Vegan?
It’s super simple to make a latte vegan. This latte doesn’t include any products with eggs or heavy cream like other lattes may include. We simply made this latte vegan by adding an alternative milk.
If you don’t like almond milk, other alternative milks that still make this latte vegan are coconut milk, oat milk, and macadamia nut milk.

Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso
- 1/8 tsp ginger
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- sprinkle nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 6 oz almond milk (steamed)
Instructions
- In an espresso machine or espresso maker, make 2 shots of espresso into your favorite mug.
- Once the espresso is finished brewing, sprinkle in ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
- Steam 6 oz of steamed almond milk. Pour milk into mug with espresso. Sprinkle with coconut sugar, if desired.
- Enjoy! Preferably next to a cozy fire or wrapped up in a blanket!
