Today we’re sharing our hatch alarm clock review.

If there’s one thing we’ve always aspired to be, it’s morning people. While we absolutely love the morning time, waking up has never been easy for both of us to do. We’ve always been the type that require 5-10 alarms to gradually, and shockingly jolt us out of our sleep until we get to the time we absolutely have to get out of bed.

We honestly didn’t know that waking up could look any different. That is, until we started using our Hatch Alarms. We each were gifted one for Christmas and to say it’s completely changed the way we wake up is nothing short of the truth.

While we never thought an alarm clock would be our favorite gadget in our home, we now can’t imagine life (more specifically mornings) without it. Here’s everything you need to know about the Hatch alarm, and our honest opinions on all it’s features.

What is a Hatch Alarm?

The Hatch Restore 3 isn’t your typical alarm clock. It’s an all-in-one sound machine, alarm clock and bedside light that will transform the way you go to sleep and wake up.

Plus, the Hatch Restore 3 connects to the Hatch app on your phone, which allows you to customize the sounds you go to sleep to and wake up to. You can even choose from a library of colors to adjust the light on your Hatch alarm.

As you wake up in the morning, the alarm clock gradually emits warm light to imitate the sunrise. This is by far our favorite feature!

What features does the Hatch Alarm include?

There are some pretty cool features that the Hatch Alarm and Hatch app provide. Here’s a list of what the product provides:

A dimmable clock keeps your room dark after bedtime
Sunrise alarm for gentler wake-ups
Phone-free design, with most controls on the device

Does the Hatch Alarm work for heavy sleepers?

We both are typically heavy sleepers, and can attest that the Hatch alarm does wake us up every morning. The sunrise feature of the alarm clock still gently wakes you up, and even if you don’t wake up to the sounds at first, they gradually increase in volume and wake you up on time.

Do you have to pay for the Hatch+ subscription?

When you purchase your Hatch Restore, you get a 1-month free trial for the Hatch+ subscription. After that, you pay by month. If you have more than one Hatch device in your home, the same subscription will apply to all devices — which is super nice.

We currently don’t use the Hatch+ subscription, because we found that the basic features it comes with are all that we need. However, towards the holidays, we may reactivate the subscription, because they have some fun seasonal sounds to choose from.

Our Overall Thoughts:

All in all, we can’t say enough good things about our Hatch Restore alarm clock. It gently wakes us up every morning and it’s so much more pleasant than being instantly jolted awake from a harsh, beeping alarm.

Waking up in the morning is SO MUCH easier! It’s hard to describe how peacefully the Hatch Restore alarm clock is to wake up to, but the best we can describe it as is waking up by peaceful stream with the glow of the morning light coming over the horizon. It sounds kind of crazy, but it’s the truth.

Another feature we weren’t expecting, but were pleasantly surprised by was the sleek design of the alarm clock. It blends beautifully with any home design and looks more like a decorative piece on your nightstand — that just so happens to be the super cool gadget.
