This is the best healthy peach crisp. Serve with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream or with a hot cup of coffee.

Every summer growing up, we would visit our grandma. She almost always made her delicious peach cobbler for us. She would serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was one of the best summer treats to eat on a hot day.

We were inspired by our grandma’s recipe to make a healthier twist. Any time we have the opportunity to make things healthier and made or more wholesome ingredients we take on the challenge! Just because it’s made of healthier ingredients, it doesn’t take away from the delicious texture and flavor.

You’re seriously going to love this light, yet delicious healthy peach crisp!

This post is all about the best healthy peach crisp.

The Best Healthy Peach Crisp

What’s in the recipe…

Peaches: Peaches are the star of this dish! Warm, caramelized peaches are so delicious served with a cold scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Corn Starch: The addition of cornstarch to the fruit coating helps to thicken the juices as they bake in the oven.

Coconut Sugar: Coconut sugar is a delicious, healthy substitute for brown sugar. It adds a caramel flavor to the dish.

Cinnamon: We add cinnamon to just about anything, because it helps enhance the flavors of baked goods.

Cardamom: Cardamom pairs well with cinnamon and peaches. It adds an unexpected, but delicious flavor to the peach crisp.

Coconut Oil: We substituted butter with coconut oil in this recipe. You honestly can’t tell a difference in flavor.

Maple Syrup: Maple syrup is added as a sweeter to the crumble and gives this crisp a deeper flavor.

Vanilla: Vanilla is always a delicious flavor to add to any sweet baked good. We added vanilla to the peach filling and the crumble.

Oats: Oats add texture and yummy flavor to the top of the healthy peach crisp.

Flour: Flour helps to thicken the crumble mixture and bakes so wonderfully on top of the peach crisp.

How to make the peach crisp…

This recipe is super simple and you most likely have most of the ingredients in your pantry already.

To start, you’ll want to prepare your pan or pie dish by greasing it with coconut oil, butter or spray oil. We used this 9 x 9 Le Cruset ceramic baking dish for this and it came out beautifully.

Start by peeling and slicing the peaches into thin slices. We love slicing our peaches in thinner slices, but you can slice yours however you would like or whatever texture you’re going for. In a medium bowl, toss the peaches in cornstarch, coconut sugar, cinnamon, cardamom and vanilla. Set the bowl aside while you make the crumble.

After you’ve made the peach filling, it’s time to make the crumble topping. Start by mixing the melted coconut oil, coconut sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, cardamom and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl. Once those ingredients are combine, mix in the oats, flour and sliced almonds.

The crumble should start clumping together and appearing crumbly. If your mixture is too dry, you can add a little bit more melted coconut oil (1 tsp at a time because it doesn’t take much).

Next, in your prepared baking dish, add sliced peaches to the bottom and sprinkle your crumble on top. Bake on 375 for 35-40 minutes. Our oven bakes quicker than other models, so we baked ours for about 32 minutes.

Lastly, enjoy with a delicious scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

Pro tip: We love eating this for breakfast with a got cup of coffee in the morning. It is so delicious!
