Hello Mozie Fam!! As some of you may know, we are based out of Dallas, Tx. We grew up here, moved away for several years for college and then moved back to our home state to pursue our careers! We have been back in Dallas for almost a year now and the area has changed quite a bit since we lived here previously. It has been fun to find new places (or at least things that are new to us!) in our spare time.

Today we wanted to share some of our favorite places we have found this past year! Whether you want to enjoy an activity outdoors, grab a craft cup of coffee, or see the sights that Dallas has to offer, we have some recommendations we think you would enjoy in Dallas/Dallas metroplex. Even if you have lived in Dallas for years, you may find a new place to venture to on the weekends.

We are sharing our Mozie’s Top 10 favorite places to visit in Dallas, as well as what we like most about them.

Of course, we had to start off with our favorite coffee shops. We love a good coffee shop that not only has a fun aesthetic and environment, but great quality drinks!!

1.  Aussie Grind. Frisco, Tx.

This coffee shop has a bright and modern atmosphere and some of the best cup of joe you will get in the Dallas area! This is our go-to spot on Saturday mornings. The owners are Australia natives and are some of the most inviting and kindest people you will meet. They are awesome and so is their coffee!

Mozie top menu picks: Avocado Toast, Lavender Latté

2. Mudleaf. Plano, Tx.

This cafe has a nice environment and friendly workers. The specialty coffee drinks are full of flavor and they are always creative with their blends. The space is great for working, there is plenty of seating and also has a conference room off to the side that can be rented out. Its one of our favorite places to get work done throughout the week!

Mozie top menu picks: Wedding Latte, Chai Tea Latte

3. LaLa Land Kind Café. Dallas, Tx.

GREAT coffee and MATCHA. We love this place and their mission!! (if you don’t know their story click here! They support such a great group of people) The workers are always so friendly and the menu is very different from any coffee shop in the area. One of the most fun things about LaLa Land Cafe is that they are able to make any coffee drink into a matcha drink. Their matcha is some of the best we’ve had in Texas!

Mozie Top menu picks: Buddha Latte, Matcha Latte, Upside-down Matcha Latte

We love to get outdoors on the weekends and go on runs and walks. Some of our favorite places to get moving outside are listed below.

4.  White Rock Lake. Dallas, Tx.

We love going on runs on White Rock lake on the weekends. The trail is always bustling with traffic which makes our runs more energetic. It also makes you feel like you are experiencing a bit of nature close to the heart of the city. White Rock is composed of about 9 miles of trail around the lake loop. It’s a great place for any trail sport with a great view from any spot on the lake trail.

5.  Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. Plano, Tx.

Arbor hills is such a great past time for us but also has a great terrain of trails for biking, runs or walks. There are miles of paved, gravel and off-road paths tucked away in this suburb. We would come here A LOT growing up. We love that it makes you forget you’re actually in the city when hiking through the wooded trails.

We like to call ourselves foodies and love to have nice experience when we go out to eat! When picking places to go eat, we like to have a variety of options at hand- from pizza, to salad, to cookies, you name it there’s a place for you. Below are our favorite places to eat in the area and we really think you would enjoy too!

6. Grimaldi’s. Allen, Tx.

Grimaldi’s is one of the best oven-fired pizzerias in the area. The wait can be long at times, but it is well worth it every time. We are always willing to wait for a slice of pie from here because it is just that good!!

Mozie’s top menu picks: Pepperoni or Cheese Pizza never disappoint!

7. True Food Kitchen. Plano, Tx.

True Food is one of our go-to lunch places. They serve nutritious meals that taste amazing. The ingredients on the menu are very fresh and healthy! Each dish on the menu is packed with flavors and seasoning that sometimes make you forget the meal is made with healthy ingredients. It keeps you always wanting more!

Mozie’s top menu picks: Organic Tuscan Kale Salad with Salmon, Chopped Salad with Chicken, Edamame Guacamole

8. Emporium Pies. McKinney, Tx.

Emporium Pies serves up decadent pies all year round that you can’t help but indulge in! The pies are made locally and sold fresh every day. One thing we love about emporium is they change their flavors seasonally so there is always something to look forward to. If you have a sweet tooth, they are the place for your sugar fix!

Mozie’s Top menu pics: Lord of the Pies and Smooth Operator (their seasonal pies are also to die for!!)

9. Village Baking Company. Dallas, Tx.

The best European-style pastries we have found in Texas to this date. They are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Their pastries are our morning go-to’s when we stop by to grab something to eat. Along with an assortment of croissants, they serve baguettes, bread loaves, sandwiches, quiche and much more. You will not be disappointed with anything you get here because the consistency in flavor and quality are true perfection!

10. Ebesu Sushi. Plano, Tx.

We absolutely love sushi and one of our favorite places is just around the corner from where we live. The atmosphere is absolutely adorable. To be honest, at first from the outside the restaurant was something that never caught my eye, but the inside of the restaurant is modern and immaculate. The sushi is amazing, plated very artistically, and the quality of service is a 10/10.

Mozie’s top menu picks: Crunchy Spicy Salmon Roll, Matcha Tiramisu.

Whether youre a Dallas native or in town for a short trip we recommend any of these places to try out! We hope you try our favorites.
