We love a good, holiday Starbucks run, but this year we’ve made it a goal to stop spending money at coffee shops and learning how to make our favorite drinks at home. During the holiday, Starbucks sugar cookie latte always sounds like a good idea, but keeping our goal in mind, we decided to figure out how to make it at home.
Save yourself some bucks this holiday season by making your Sugar Cookie Latte at home. It’s actually way easier than you think! The syrup takes a few minutes to make and then you just add it to your mug before making your espresso and steaming your milk. So simple! You have to try it.

Step 1: Make the syrup — Add all your syrup ingredients to a sauce pan, bring to a boil, remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Make Espresso — Add butter and syrup to a mug. Then make your espresso shot to pull over the butter and syrup.
Step 3: Steam Milk — Lastly, steam the milk of your choice. Pour into mug and top with whipped cream and sprinkles.

Ingredients
Sugar Cookie Syrup
1 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
Latte:
1/4 tbsp salted butter
2 shots of espresso
1 cup milk
Red and green sprinkles
Instructions
- Add water, brown sugar, white sugar. Stirring as the sugar dissolves. Once it’s boiling and the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and almond extract. Let syrup cool for about 10 minutes. ( you can store in a glass jar)
- Before you make you espresso, add butter and syrup to the bottom of the mug. Steep your espresso over the butter and syrup.
- Steam milk and pour into the espresso. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles if you’d like!
