What you will need for the winter puppy chow snack mix:

Start by Making Your Puppy Chow Mix

Melt your chocolate chips and peanut butter of choice in a medium sized sauce pan, over low heat on the stove. This mixture can heat up very quickly and you want to make sure not to burn any chocolate in your pan.

Stir the mixture constantly as it is heating up.

In a large bowl, measure out half of your Chex cereal in the bowl. Pour your chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the Chex and stir until all the chocolate is incorporated. Next, pour the other half of the dry Chex into the bowl and stir until every piece is evenly coated. There should be no white Chex showing on the pieces.

After the Chex is coated in the chocolate, place the bowl in your freezer to chill for a 1-2 minutes. This will cool the chocolate mixture so the powdered sugar coats the chocolate Chex, without soaking in too much.

In a large gallon size bag, pour some confectioners sugar on the bottom of the bag. Pour all your chocolate-coated Chex into the bag. Top off the bag with some more powdered sugar.

Seal the bag and shake, shake shake!!

If the puppy chow pieces are still looking very chocolaty, add some more powdered sugar to the bag, seal and shake so the whole mixture is covered evenly!

Chill the puppy chow mix in your refridereator until ready to serve.

Next make the Star Crunch snow bites!

First, remove all the Little Debbie Star Crunch snacks from their wrapping. Next, cut the Star Crunch snack rounds into fourths. Toss the Star Crunch pieces into a gallon sized plastic bag with some confectioners sugar. Lastly, give the bag a couple shakes to coat the Star Crunch pieces.

Once everything is prepped, pour both of your wintery mixtures into a large bowl, mixing to combine. Enjoy quickly before it’s gone!
