We’re sharing 8 types of kitchen cabinets we have our eye on this year. Whether you’re looking for inspiration for a modern kitchen, a traditional kitchen or something in between, we hope these kitchens inspire you to reimagine your space.

At the beginning of the year, we always love to reevaluate design trends and share some that we’re loving for the coming year. The kitchen is our favorite place in the home, so we thought we would start there.

Despite the rage of all-white kitchens over the past several years, more traditional kitchen design is making its way back on the scene. We predict a lot more people will begin to incorporate richer, moodier tones and textures into their kitchen. However, we are still leaving room for a sleek, textural, white kitchen on our radar.

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal style and how you wish to reflect that in your home. These 8 types of kitchen cabinets are ones that inspire us when we’re designing kitchen spaces for clients, and we hope they motivate you to create the kitchen you love.

This post is all about types of kitchen cabinets.

8 Types of Kitchen Cabinets We Have Our Eye on This Year

1. Deep Green Cabinets with Brass Hardware

Olive green and muted green made it’s appearance over the past couple of years, but this year we’re leaning more towards a richer, darker green color for cabinets. This green color has grey undertones, which pulls out the grey veining in the counter and backsplash.

2. Natural Wood Grain Cabinets with Aged Brass Hardware

If you’re looking to achieve a more rustic, traditional style in your kitchen, natural stained wood cabinets are a beautiful choice. They add such warmth and coziness to the space. Pair the cabinets with aged brass hardware to really lean into a the rustic feel.

3. Creamy Grey White Cabinets with Sleek Black Hardware

How stunning are these creamy grey, white cabinets with sleek black hardware? We love that the cabinets aren’t stark white, but have a little bit of grey undertone with adds a bit of a cooler tone to the kitchen. The black hardware contrasts so beautifully with the creamy cabinets as well.

4. Charcoal Cabinets With Brass Knobs

Tradition and moodiness blend in this kitchen design with these gorgeous charcoal cabinets. The brass hardware adds to the old-world feel and compliment the other rich tones in the kitchen.

If you’re looking for a moody color for your kitchen cabinets, then a dark charcoal is a beautiful choice.

5. Sleek Black Inset Cabinets

When working with smaller kitchen spaces, a sleek, low profile design opens up the space and adds a fresh, modern look to the space. We love these dark inset cabinets to contrast the cabinets and wall color in the space. They fit seamlessly into the Scandi style this homeowner wanted for the space.

6. Two-Toned Green and Natural Wood Cabinetry with Brass Hardware

We absolutely love kitchens with two-toned cabinetry and don’t see it going anywhere any time soon. This trend makes the space feel more collected and adds visual interest as well. The earthy green and natural wood tone bring the outdoors into the space—giving it a cozy feel.

7. Creamy White Cabinets with Gold Hardware

Although many design experts predict the all-white kitchen to fade out this year, we think that a more sophisticated, creamy white color with visually interesting counters are still stunning. We are pretty obsessed with Hilary Matt’s kitchen design, and the character the hardware and lighting add to the space make it a one-of-a-kind space.

8. Burgundy Cabinets with White Open Shelving

We absolutely love the depth these burgundy cabinets add to this otherwise white kitchen. They ground the space and are such a beautiful, rich color that contrasts beautifully with the other elements in the room.

If you’re looking to add a fun color to your space, we highly recommend a deep burgundy cabinet!
