How to Make Your Dessert Charcuterie Board
First, make sure your charcuterie board is clean before placing any food on the board. Once your board is clean, you can begin to prepare the food.
Next, decorate the board! This our favorite part of making charcuterie boards. This it your time to have fun! Create the board you envision for your friends. However, we will tell you how we styled ours if you are needing some tips.
We started with placing our dip on the board, then fanning the waffle cookies in either corner. We then, bunched the fruit together, added in a row of cookies, broke pretzel rods in half and placed them in bunches near the dip. Lastly, we filled in the gaps with meringues and candied pistachios and additional fruit.
How to Assemble and Decorate Your Charcuterie Board
First, is to make it yours. Gauge how much of each item you would need for the size of group you’re hosting. Make your board big or small. Second, have food reserved for when the board runs out. Fill in with extra cookies, pretzels, fruit and other treats as needed. You can always add more to the board as it dwindles!
A tip to making your board look fuller is to bunch certain items together and then create some movements with wavy lines of treats. On this board, it was the cookies, pistachios that created that movement. Once you have created the movement, fill in the gaps with what you have left over. Get creative with it and have fun

The Dessert Charcuterie Board That’s Irresistibly Delicious
- Total Time: 13 minutes
- Yield: 10 people 1x
Ingredients
Chocolate-Dipped Oranges
- 2–3 large oranges
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Other Dessert Charcuterie Board Ingredients
- 1 pkg brake and bake chocolate chip cookies
- 1 pkg waffle cookies
- 1 pkg pretzel rods
- 1 carton fresh strawberries
- 1 pkg Trader Joe's Vanilla Merengues
- 1 pkg chocolate dessert hummus
Instructions
- First, make sure your charcuterie board is clean before placing any food on the board. Once your board is clean, you can begin to prepare the food.
- To make the chocolate dipped oranges, prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Peel your oranges and separate into slices. Set orange slices to the side and add 1 cup of chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl. Melt chocolate chips for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until the chips are completely melted.
- Dip your oranges halfway in chocolate and place the slices on prepared baking sheet. Allow chocolate to harden by placing the sheet in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
- Bake cookie dough based on instructions on the package. Once cookies are done baking, allow them to cool before placing them on the board.
- To assemble your board, place your chocolate hummus on the board. Begin layering the dessert board ingredients. We like alternating and adding ingredients to fill in spaces on the board. How you assemble your board is up to you, but you can use our board for inspiration!
