How to Make the Chex Party Mix

To make the the party mix, you first mix the butter and seasonings together and pour it over the cereal, cracker, pretzel mixture. You’ll want to mix the seasoning sauce until it covers the mix completely.

A mix of savory spices, Cheez It’s, Chex cereal and mini pretzels.

  • Total Time: 35
  • Yield: 10 cups 1x

Ingredients

Scale

4 cups of Chex cereal

3 cups Cheese It’s

3 cups mini pretzels

1 stick butter

2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

4 tsp garlic powder

3 tsp onion powder

2 tsp dried parsley

2 tsp dried dill

3 tsp dried chives

1 tsp tarragon

1 tsp mustard powder

1/2 tsp chili powder

4 tsp red pepper flakes (depending on your level of spiciness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. You’ll need a large rimmed baking sheet for this recipe (preferably a 21 inch baking sheet like this one). In the largest mixing bowl you have, add the Chex cereal, Cheese It’s and mini pretzels.
  2. In a small glass mixing bowl, melt the butter. Mix in the Worcestershire sauce and all the seasonings. Pour the butter sauce over the cereal mix and mix with a rubber spatula until all the pieces are coated. This may take several minutes to do, but it’s WORTH it!
  3. Pour the mixture on the rimmed baking sheet, evenly spread it across the pan and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Occasionally stirring around the mixture 1-2 times to get it evenly cooked on all sides.
  4. Enjoy at a movie night with friends or as a cozy snack throughout the week.
