What’s in this recipe?

Frozen Watermelon: Once we’ve had a watermelon flavored margarita, there’s no turning back! We scooped the watermelon into balls using an ice cream scoop. You can totally use a melon baller if you have one. Either way works!

Herb Simple Syrup: We used this simple syrup. It gives the margarita a subtle herby taste. This is a local simple syrup company to Northwest Arkansas, but you can buy it online at Walmart!

Blanco Tequila: Margaritas are traditionally made with blanco tequila, so naturally, that’s what we used in this recipe!

Lime juice: The juice of two limes gives this a bit more of an acidic punch!

Ice: The addition of ice is super important! It’s what makes this a frozen margarita.

Frozen Blueberries: We pureed the blueberries with water to make gorgeous star-shaped ice cubes.

How to make the blueberry ice cubes…

You’ll want to make these blueberry ice cubes 3-4 hours before or the night before you plan on making the margaritas so that they can freeze completely.

In a blender, add your frozen blueberries and water. Blend until the mixture is smooth. Pour into your star-shaped ice cube molds (these are similar to the ones we used) or any other ice cube mold you have at home.

How to make the frozen margarita…

Making this frozen watermelon herb margarita is super simple and takes little to no time at all!

First, you’ll need a high speed blender. This is the one we use, and we absolutely love it. We also love this high speed blender from Amazon too!

Add your watermelon, ice, herb simple syrup, lime juice and blanco tequila to the blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. You don’t want large chunks for ice.

Lastly, using cute bar cart glasses, pour the frozen margarita mixture into the glasses. Top with the blueberry ice cubes and enjoy!

Pro tip: If you or your guests like to line the rim of their glass with salt or sugar, run a lime wedge around on the outer rims and roll it in sugar or course salt before pouring the drinks.
