These haunted crescent mummy dogs are always a crowd favorite!

Haunted Crescent Mummy Dogs

Do you remember those fun party treats that your mom made when you were growing up Our mom, would always host holiday parties for us and our friends every year, and Halloween was by far her favorite of them all!

One of our favorite memories was eating all the fun Halloween treats, including these haunted crescent mummy dogs. If your mom didn’t make them, you’ve probably had them at some point or have seen them on your Pinterest feed.

They are often times made with hot dogs, but we aren’t huge fan of hot dogs, so we used turkey sausage links instead. The sausage makes them taste like a warm kolache. You’ll seriously be obsessed with how simple, adorable and delicious these are, and if you’re hosting a Halloween party too your guests will love them!

This post is all about crescent mummy dogs.

What’s in this recipe?

Turkey Sausage Links: The turkey sausage is an even more delicious alternative to hotdogs. We cut the sausage links in half so that we could easily double the recipe!

Canned Crescent Rolls: To make this a super simple recipe, we used canned crescent rolls to wrap the sausage links in.

Candy Eyeballs: We don’t recommend eating these with the mummy do itself, but they do make them look more adorable and spooky.

Ketchup: We prefer ketchup to dip our crescent mummy dogs in.

Mustard: Mustard is also a great choice for dipping too!

How to Make the Crescent Mummy Dogs

We wouldn’t even really call this a recipe, but more of a fun idea for a Halloween party! These literally take 5 minutes to put together and 12 minutes to cook in the oven. They are the easiest party snack for Halloween and look pretty dang cute too!

To start you’ll need 1-2 packages of turkey sausage links. You can totally buy more packages of sausage depending on how many people you’re preparing for.

Then, on a clean cutting board, cut each sausage link in half, so you can make two mummies from each link.

The next thing you’ll want to do is pop open the can of crescents and roll it our on a flat surface or large cutting board. Using a pizza cutter, cut thin horizontal strips of crescent dough. Then, wrap the strips around the sausage link, leaving space to put the eyeball candy.

Bake the Mummies

On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place your crescent mummies. Bake for 12-14 minutes on 375°F. The crescents should be light golden brown.

Add the Eyeballs

It’s totally your choice of whether or not you want to use candy eyeballs or not. We love how adorable it makes them look though. Your guests can just take them off before they eat them. Otherwise, it wouldn’t taste that well!

We used a dot of mustard to adhere the candy eyeball to the crescent mummy. You can use ketchup as well, if you don’t like mustard.

These taste best warm out of the oven! Serve with ketchup and mustard on the side.
