In this post, we will show you 15 gorgeous accent chairs for small spaces.
Living in a small space can come with some challenges in your home design, however we have found that there’s always room for one or more accent chairs in a small space!
Accent chairs are one of the best ways to add personality to any room in your home. Whether you choose one or two for your living room or bedroom, they are bound to add a touch of your personal style.
Accent chairs can cost a little bit more money, but they are always worth the investment. When you’re choosing an accent chair, it’s important to think about several things before choosing one that’s perfect for your space!
This post is all about accent chairs for small spaces.
4 Things to Think About When Choosing an Accent Chair for Your Small Space
1. Consider Your Personal Style
The first thing you need to consider when choosing an accent chair for small spaces is your personal style.
Is your style more traditional, modern, french-country, or mid-century modern? Once you have idea of what your style is, your search gets more narrow. You are able to go to your favorite online stores and filter your search down to that specific style.
Narrowing down your personal style also allows you to better envision the kind of space you want to create and how your new accent chair will add the personality you want in the small space!
2. Think About a Budget You Want to Spend
Your budget is obviously an important part of your decision process. Remember, accent chairs are always pricer than you would expect for a chair, so expect to have a budget range you are comfortable with.
We like to have a budget range of $50-$100 more than our ideal budget price—meaning we would feel comfortable spending fifty to 100 more than our ideal budget price if we had to. This may seem extreme, but it does help us justify an appropriate amount to spend.
For example, if our ideal (goal) budget price was $300, we would still feel comfortable spending up to $400 if we found something we really wanted, but would still love to find something cheaper.
3. Consider the Amount of Space You Have
Living in a small space can be challenging at times. In order to truly know if your accent chair will fit in your space, measure the dimensions on the floor of your apartment and create an outline with blue painters tape on the floor.
This will allow you to visualize your space better and help you decide if you need something bigger or smaller.

4. Comfort and Aesthetics
Finding a comfortable accent chair is 100% worth it! If the chair isn’t comfortable, you most likely won’t use it as much as you would like. The last thing you want to do is spend hundreds of dollars on an accent chair that isn’t comfortable.
Find a balance between comfort and aesthetics. You want to the chair to match the aesthetic of your space, and you want it to be comfy and cozy to watch TV or read a book in.
