8 Spring Fashion Staples to Add to Your Wardrobe
1. Serious About Stripes

This year, we’re serious about stripes. During the fall and winter, they had their moment, but they are returning in spring with fresh colors and classic stripe designs. Whether it’s on a simple long-sleeve t-shirt, light sweater, or dress, there are so many fun ways to wear stripes this season.
2. Light Sweaters

Lightweight cardigans are going to be a staple in our closets this season. We’re still planning on going into spring with a cozy vibe, but to match the aesthetic of the season, we recommend choosing pastel colors, creams, and whites, or even going for a cable knit design. Layered over a lace cami top, sweaters are still a comfortable piece to have on hand for chilly days.
3. Lace and Frilly Things

There’s just something about lace during the spring that makes us feel girly, free, and fun. Whether the frill is around the collar, cuffs of the sleeves, or as a detail along the entirety of the shirt, we’re here for it all. Wear a white lace top to keep things clean and fresh, or opt for primary color lace tops for some personality.
4. A-Line Skirts Are In

A retro staple has made it back for a modern refresh. A-line skirts are back, but you may be wondering how to style them for a look that’s caught up to the times. We recommend waiting for them with a tripod polo top, v-neck sweater, or a cami and cardigan for a layered look.
5. A Modern Twist on the V-Neck

Holy-2010s! V-necks are back, and we’re not mad about it like we might have been in previous years. As it haunted our middle school and high school years, the return of the V-neck shirt has a more modern feel. Maybe it’s the idea of pairing the top with some pleated trousers and flats that makes it more accepting. However, if you choose to style a V-neck top this year, keep it fresh and clean with a bomber jacket and jeans.
6. Crisp Denim

Denim in the spring just feels crisp and happy. Creating unique ways to style the fabric for the season is always a fun idea, too — whether that’s pairing a denim vest with a silk skirt or investing in a new style of denim (like barrel or balloon jeans) to create dimension and a unique silhouette.
7. Feminine Florals

A spring staple that never fails: florals. This year, we’re noticing subtle floral patterns that make them feel fresh and feminine. However, we’re also seeing floral patterns that make us feel somewhat nostalgic (like this floral top from Sézane). Overall, the blend of floral patterns with modern silhouettes always makes the print feel new for the season.
8. Loafers Are Back for Spring

Loafers and flats go hand in hand as the best shoes to wear during the spring season. While we often think that loafers are strictly reserved for the fall and winter, spring-inspired loafers have made their move into the fashion scene for the season. Go for a classic white, black, or add some color to a neutral outfit. Have fun with styling them, and trust us, you’ll want to wear them all season long.
