Why should you organize your laundry room?

Organizing our laundry room changed the whole feel of stepping into the room. Whether we were doing laundry or not, having the space organized with labeled buckets is so refreshing.

An organized laundry room is gives everything a home, and makes you smile when you walk in, because it’s so aesthetically pleasing!

10 Genius Small Laundry Room Organization Ideas

1. Install Several Wood Shelves for Storage

The more shelving you have in your space, the more organization you can add yo your small laundry room. Adding a couple of wood shelves above your washer and dryer machines is a great way to have easy access to laundry products and adds value to your space.

2. Stack Your Washer and Dryer Machines

Stacking your washer and dryer can look cute! We love this look. Not only is it beautifully organized, but stacking their machines gave them the opportunity to add more counter and shelving space.

3. Maximize Storage in Your Closet Laundry Room

You may think that it’s impossible to gain more storage than you already have, and that’s why we love this small laundry room organization idea from the Home Edit.

That maximized this laundry closet with three additional shelves and added a small drawer cart—that even provides counter top space. It’s amazing how you can configure a space! It just takes a bit of creativity and innovation to rework a small space.

4. Add Hooks Along Your Wall to Dry Laundry

One of the things that we think is underrated in laundry rooms is enough space to air dry your clothes.

If we could design our own laundry room, it would have a laundry line that spanned across the length of the laundry room, so that we didn’t have to find other places around our home to hang our clothes.

That’s why we love this idea of adding hooks to an empty wall. It gives purpose to an otherwise blank wall and gives you more space to dry clothes and hang other personal belongings.

5. Add Labeled Baskets

Are you looking for a simple way to add organization to your laundry room? An affordable super easy way to organize your space is organizing your laundry products in labeled bins.

We did this in our apartment laundry room, and it transformed our space. It’s a simple, but aesthetic way of giving everything a home.

6. Store Laundry Items in Drawers

If you don’t have a lot of cabinet or shelf space, in your laundry room, organizing your laundry products in drawers is a genius idea.

Store everything from laundry pods, wool dryer balls, Tide To-Go pens and laundry sheets in clear drawer organizers to keep your drawer tidy and free from extra clutter.

7. Keep Apartment Laundry Room Organization Simple

If you live in an apartment like we do, there’s not much you can do to create the laundry room of your dreams. That’s why looked at the space we had and kept the organization super simple.

Since our water heater takes up a ton of unnecessary space in our laundry room, we could only do so much. We bought these super cheap white bins from the Container Store (they are only $5!), used our custom laundry labels and organized the space. We added a simple art piece and some cute bamboo laundry baskets as well.

8. Install Bins for Different Loads of Laundry

How genius is this laundry drawer idea? If you have the space in your small laundry room, this would be a genius idea to try!

The used an IKEA cabinet system and added wire bin drawers for each of their different laundry loads. What a fun and practical small laundry room organization idea!

9. Make Cube Organization Multipurpose for Pet Items

Do you have a pet in your home? Are you looking for a way to conceal your pets food or litter box? We love this laundry room-cat room combo she created in her laundry room.

She used a cube shelf to organize every day products on the top two shelves, and on the bottom row of shelves, she dedicated that space for her cats food and drink bowls. You could even use one of the spaces for a litter box as well!

10. Use Clear Jars for Everyday Laundry Products

We absolutely love the look of clear jars or clear containers in a laundry room! These jars are super practical and look gorgeous on a shelf in your laundry room.

Add you laundry pods, laundry powders and dryer balls to your clear glass jars. Place some gorgeous labels on the front of the jars to make them look aesthetic for your laundry room.
