This post is all about how to organize your small apartment laundry room with affordable and budget friendly organization products.
We have always been obsessed with organizing and finding affordable ways to organize spaces that we use daily. One of those spaces is our laundry room.
If you’ve lived in an apartment before, you know that laundry space is sparse. Some apartments only have laundry closets, so finding practical ways to organize your space is so important.
Our space is limited in our laundry room, and we were tired of our products being jumbled on the shelf. We kept the organization for this space super affordable, minimal, and takes less than 30 minutes to do. We love how it turned out, so we’re going to tell you how we achieved the look and the steps we took to get from a cluttered mess to an organized and tidy space.
This post is all about apartment laundry room organization.

How to Organize Your Laundry Room in 5 Simple Steps
1. Measure the Length of the Shelves
The first step to organizing your space is measuring the shelves in your laundry room. Whether you have one, two, three or more shelves in your space, measure the length of each one.
Write down the length of each one on a notepad or piece of paper. This will help you keep in mind how much space you have for storage bins and containers.
2. Decide the Look of Your Organizational Bins
Honestly, one of the hardest parts of organizing this space was deciding which organizational bins we wanted to use in the space. We love the look of any organizational bin that’s sleek or neutral in color.
We decided to use white plastic bins, because we thought it would look better to conceal the items in our laundry room. Adding a bright white color brightens the small space as well.
You can even mix and match the type of bins in your space if you like. Whatever organizational bin “look” you decide for your space is totally up to you.
Here are some of our favorite Organizational Bins:
Woven Baskets
We love the look of woven baskets in any space. We have used woven baskets in our pantry to organize baking goods and back stock products. Woven baskets add texture to your space and look gorgeous as well.
White Plastic Bins
These are the white plastic bins we used in our apartment laundry room. We are obsessed with how they look on our shelves. If you want to conceal your products and other laundry goods, these bins are perfect for doing that.
Not to mention, these bins are super sleek and modern. They also have handles which make them super easy to take off the shelf.
Acrylic Bins
Acrylic bins are such a beautiful option for any space. They are all over Pinterest and Instagram for organizing cabinets, pantries and even laundry rooms. They are a classic in style and have the ability to make a space look bigger than before.
3. Make Your Own Labels
When we were looking for ways to make our own labels at home. We don’t have a Circut, so we decided to make our own label template, print them off and laminate the labels.
We used this small laminator from Amazon to laminate the labels and cut the labels close to the edge.
All we did was simply attach the labels with velcro dots. We love how they turned out. If you don’t have a label maker, like a Circut, then this is such an affordable and easy way to make your own labels.
We are even sharing the labels we made just to organize your laundry room. You can download the labels for FREE below!
4. Organize the Products in Your Bins
This is the fun part of the organization process, and it means it’s almost over. We love putting all the items in their bins. We like organizing items of like purpose and category.
For example, all our clean products are in one container and all our laundry related products are in the other bin.
5. Place Bins and Other Organization Products in Your Laundry Room
Lastly, all you have to do is place your bins on their respective shelves, and just like that you have a beautifully organized laundry room!
Now you can do laundry with ease and feel proud of your work in organizing your space to work better for you!
