It may be the super aesthetic home design side of us…but seeing a bundle of cords coming from a TV, computer or other electronic device is our biggest pet peeve. We’re sharing 5 genius ways to cover cords, that will literally take a few minutes to do—then, you’ll never have to worry about seeing them again! While you may have heard of some of these cord cover ideas, you may not expect a couple of thee (especially #4). These ideas will literally help your cord-bundle-induced-anxiety go away.

This post is all about ways to cover cords.

5 Genius Ways to Cover Cords

1. Use a Cord Cover (Obvious, but Effective and Simple)

Using a cord cover to conceal TV cords, table lamp cords or cords from wall mounted sconces are great solution. We highly recommend using these when you have to cancel a cord from something mounted on a wall or under an open piece of furniture, because there are ways you can mask the look of it.

After concealing the cords on a wall, you can paint over the cord cover to match the paint in your room. This will help to hide the stark white cord cover on the wall.

2. Run Cords Underneath a Rug

If you’re looking to conceal cords from lamps or appliances that are in the middle of a room, hiding them under a rug is another sneaky option. Simply run the cords under the rug until they meet the back of another piece of furniture that’s placed along the wall with an outlet. Out of sight and out of mind!

Pro tip: We recommend using some electrical tape to secure the cord on the ground, under the rug. This will help if from sliding and being pulled out from the wall.

3. Swap for Battery Powered Options

Looking to conceal the cords from lamps and sconces in your home? Try swapping your regular lightbulbs and cords for battery powered light bulbs. This may not be the most traditional way of doing things, but it is a genius way to eliminating the appearance of ugly cords.

If you’re installing sconces, coil up the cords and tape them behind the sconce base that connects to the wall. Then, place the battery powered lightbulb in the sconce and turn it on with the remote control.

When concealing table lamp cords this way, bundle the cords and tape them underneath or to the back of the table where they can’t be seen. Then, place the battery powdered lightbulb in the lamp.

4. Create a “Cord Hub”

If you love an aesthetic home, and want to create a way to conceal a large amount of cords in a cute way, then creating a cord hub is a great option! You do this simply by getting a woven basket or box that had a handle, waving the cords through the handle look and placing them in a basket.

We love this idea so much, because it’s functional and very design forward!

5. Hook Cords to the Back of Furniture

Lastly, try using Command Cord Clips to wrap cords around. These make it super easy to discretely hook cords along the back of a desk or table so you don’t see them. We recommend going this route if you only have one or two cords to conceal, because each clip can only hold a certain number of cords (depending on the thickness of them).
