Every February, I get so excited for one of my favorite girls’ nights of the year…Galentine’s Day! In my opinion, it’s slightly better than actual Valentine’s Day, because it’s the best excuse to get all your besties together, play fun Valentine’s games, wear pink and red pajamas, and eat all the yummy heart-shaped party snacks. I mean, you can’t get much better than that — am I right?
My Pinterest feed lately has been flooded with such adorable ideas, I knew I couldn’t gatekeep any of these. That’s why I’ve rounded up the 18 cutest Galentine’s Day party ideas to recreate with your friends this year. Keep reading to see how you can host the ultimate party this year.
What is Galentine’s Day?
Galentine’s Day is a holiday that was created to celebrate women’s friendship with one another. Its unofficial day of celebration is February 13; however, you can honor the holiday any day you’d like. The holiday originated from the NBC show Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope celebrated the day with her closest girl friends to tell them how special they were. Of course, humor was involved, but the idea of Valentine’s Day became a holiday that is now celebrated globally.
1. Make Heart-Shaped Pizzas

Looking for a fun Valentine’s dinner party activity? There’s nothing better than making heart-shaped pizzas. Everyone can make their own personal pizza and decorate it with a cute design and their choice of toppings.
2. Chocolate Fondue Station

Chocolate fondue sounds like the perfect idea for Galentine’s. In a mini crockpot, melt the chocolate and keep it on low to keep the temperature and texture of the chocolate just right. Chop up some fruit and serve sponge cake, cookies, or other treats of your choice to dip into the chocolate.
3. Make a “Happy Galentine’s” Banner

I’m always down for a cute DIY party decoration, and making a paper banner is so fun. I personally love this design and the way they painted the letters. Add some pink, red, and white hearts to fill the space. Then tape it on your wall for people to see when they enter.
4. Set a Gorgeous Red & Pink Table Setting

While the weather may be too cold to host an outdoor party, this red and pink table setting would look just as adorable on your dining table inside. Every detail is thought out, and it’s such a feminine way to celebrate the day with your friends.
5. Friendship Bracelet Station

This friendship bracelet station is Swiftie-approved! Set up a small table with red and pink beads, letter beads, and stretchy wire to make bracelets. Include phrases like “Be Mine”, “Burning Red”, or “My Best Gal”.
6. Decorate Heart-Shaped Sugar Cookies

I love an excuse to decorate cookies, and a Valentine’s party is the perfect setting to do just that. Make heart-shaped cookies ahead of time and have your friends decorate with icing and sprinkles. Then, it’s time to eat and enjoy your cute sugar cookie treats.
7. Make Cute Valentine’s Day Cards

Make your Galentine’s girls’ night special with a thoughtful craft — making homemade Valentine’s Day cards. Have each friend make one or two cards to give to someone special on the day of Valentine’s Day. This could be for a friend, family member, or boyfriend.
8. A Mimosa Bar is Perfect for Galentine’s Brunch

If you’re hosting a Galentine’s Day brunch, a mimosa bar is a must. Plus, it’s super easy to set up. All you need is a couple of bottles of champagne and your juice of choice. Orange juice is an obvious choice, but add some red and pink juices to the mix, like grapefruit juice and cranberry juice.
9. Mini Strawberry Pop-Tarts

While these mini Pop-Tarts bites aren’t sticky for Valentine’s Day-themed parties, I thought they were an adorable addition to Galentine’s girls’ night. After all, who doesn’t love a homemade Pop-Tarts? This bite-sized dessert is the perfect party snack for a movie night or while you’re doing Valentine’s activities.
10. Heart-Shaped Brownie Bites

One of my favorite recipes we’ve made for the Valentine’s holiday is these heart-shaped brownie bites. They are super fudgy brownies topped with strawberry frosting and festive sprinkles. Your friends are going to devour these!
11. Don’t Forget Metallic Heart Balloons

What’s a party without some cute balloons? I love these metallic heart balloons for a Valentine’s Day party. Add them over your kitchen island (like this creator), or in your living room. Either way, they are an inexpensive decoration that is so adorable in any space.
12. Valentine’s Photo Backdrop

You could even use the metallic helium balloons to create a fun photo backdrop for you and your friends to take photos in front of. Hang some red and pink “XOXO” garland to add some dimension and festive flair.
13. Make It a Galentine’s Girls Movie Night

You had me at Galentine’s girls movie night! I mean, talk about a cozy evening with your favorite people. Serve your favorite Valentine’s treats and salty snacks and watch a fun rom-com or girly drama, like Little Women.
14. Set Up a Table with All the Party Snacks

If you’re hosting a movie night, set up a table with all the party snacks your friends can enjoy. That way, everyone already has their treat portioned out — making it easy for everyone involved and cleanup after the party. You could even add a small gift to the table — like red and pink hair clips or some fuzzy slippers.
15. Serve Pink Cocktails

Whether it’s a cocktail or a cute mocktail, a fun pink drink has to be on the Galentine’s menu. Serve it in a coupe glass, dust the edge with pink sugar, and add a candy topper. If you’re looking for an easy pink drink recipe, try this one!
16. Pink & Red Chocolate Bark

Pink and red chocolate bark is the perfect treat to make and send home in goodie bags to your friends. This makes such a festive party favor you know won’t go to waste. Swirl in pink chocolate and add Valentine’s Day M&Ms, mini pretzels, or any other little surprises you want on top.
17. Berry Bowl Galentine’s Gift Baskets

We absolutely love the idea of a berry bowl gift basket. It’s so simple to recreate, and you can stuff the basket with different Galentine’s goodies your friends will love.
18. Create a Cozy Ambiance

Lastly, if you’re hosting a dinner party, creating a cozy ambience in your apartment is a must! Hang some red and pink streamers and decor over the dining table, dim the lights, and light some cute taper candles to set the scene. Your home will instantly feel festive and intimate for all your friends to relax for a fun girls’ night in.
