What Are Berry Bowls?

Berry bowls are often made or ceramic and are a small square for round colander that’s meant to rinse and store berries. You can use them to store berries in your fridge or as decoration on your kitchen counter when you aren’t using them. Plus, they make adorable gifts — like how we use the berry bowl in this DIY gift tutorial.

How to Make the Valentine’s Day Berry Bowl Gift

Step 1: Add Candy to the Bowls

We used a couple of different candies. We added the Jolly Rancher Jelly Bean Hearts to the bottom of the bowl and then added a whole package of Haribo Berries to the top. This gives it the appearance of berries in the berry bowl (which turned out so adorable).

Feel free to add or swap whatever additional Valentine candy you like. Add some chocolate heart candies or Valentine’s M&Ms to the bottom instead. Be creative with it and add candy you know your friends would prefer.

Step 2: Wrap with Basket Bag

The basket bag will be way too big for the size of the berry bowl, so you’ll need to cut it down. We were able to use one basket bag to make three Valentine’s berry bowl gifts, so you can adjust the number of bags you need to purchase to the amount of gifts you’re making.

Start by laying the plastic bag on a flat surface, place your berry bowl in the center of the plastic bag and wrap the bag around the berry bowl, tying it with a twist tie at the top.

Step 3: Add the Ribbon and Valentine Card

Lastly, it’s time to add the ribbon and card to the gift.

First things first, you’ll need to print out the “Love You Berry Much” Valentine’s Day Cards. You can get our FREE printable Valentine’s Day cards we used for this DIY HERE.

Using a single hole punch, punch a whole in the corner of the card, so that the ribbon can go through it.

Next, tie the ribbon around the top of the basket bag to secure it. Thread the card onto the ribbon and fasten it by tying a bow.
