Maybe I’m a bit old school, but something my mom instilled in me growing up was to dress nicely on a plane. To this day, I can’t get myself to wear anything more casual than jeans, a cute top, and sneakers.
The thing is, I totally get the idea of being comfortable on a plane, and sometimes the things I’ve worn get really irritable when you’re ten thousand feet in the air. That’s why I’m on a mission to piece together stylish and comfortable travel outfits to feel confident in. And today, I’m sharing 6 travel outfit ideas that will make you rethink how to travel in style for your upcoming trip and everyone after that.

6 Comfortable & Stylish Travel Outfits
1. Printed Jeans (Jean Sweatpants) + Button Down + Sneakers
These printed jeans, otherwise known as jean sweatpants, have gone viral and are truly the best travel pants to wear. While they are an investment piece, you’ll understand how comfortable they are, and they’ll be a staple in your closet for years to come.
To complete this travel look, pair the jeans with a striped button-down and red sneakers. If you’re traveling in the summer, a straw tote bag is a must for carrying on to the plane.
2. Barrel Lounge Pants + Canvas Jacket + Birkenstocks

I love a good black and white moment, and this color combo is so easy to assemble for a busy travel day. Start by throwing on some barrel lounge pants. The pinch waist in these paints make them extremely comfortable while you’re sitting on a plane for house. Add some layers with a cute black tee and canvas jacket.
Complete the look with your favorite Birkenstock sandals, jewelry, and a black woven shoulder bag.
3. Printed Jeans (Jean Sweatpants) + Button Down + Trench Coat

I brought the sweat-pant jeans back for another comfortable and stylish travel outfit. They are so versatile and elevate any on-the-go look. An oversized, white button-down shirt is a sophisticated touch, and the trench coat adds a light layer you can easily take on and off.
Complete the look with your favorite black bag, some jewelry, and comfortable white sneakers, like these from Dolce Vita.
4. Soft Jeans + Cami + Sweater Jacket

Frame has the softest jeans in the game. I’ve traveled in mine, and they are the only jeans I reach for when I want a more put-together airplane outfit.
Pair the jeans with a ruffle-trim cami and a light sweater jacket (like this one from One Mile). Complete the look with some grey sneakers and a pop of color — this gorgeous red bag from Anthropologie.
5. Athletic Pants + T-shirt + Oversized V-Neck Sweater

My mom swears by Athleta pants, and I can attest that they are some of the best versatile pants on the market. The cropped style makes this look modern. I paired the pants with a white tee and an oversized pullover sweater just in case the airport or plane is cold.
To complete the look, we added these adorable black and gold Stevie Hoop Earrings, a large black tote, and some comfortable white sneakers.
6. Soft Wide-Leg Jeans + Graphic Tee + Short Jacket + Flats
This last comfortable and stylish travel outfit is a cute one and is probably my favorite. I absolutely love these Soft jeans from Gap. They are the perfect travel jeans and are super affordable as well. The graphic tee adds a casual look, and the stunning red jacket is chic and perfect for layering when you’re chilly.
To complete the look, wear your favorite statement hoops, bring your favorite travel bag (I’m obsessed with this bag from Away), and some Rothy flats —they are insanely comfortable!
