How to Make Cinnamon Apple Sheet Pan Nachos
Make homemade cinnamon sugar pita chips.
If you can’t find cinnamons sugar pita chips at the store you can make them yourself with a bag of normal pita chips. Honestly, they taste better than the store-bought because they are buttery and generously coated with lots of cinnamon and sugar.
All you need to do is pour a large 16-18 oz bag of pita chips into a bowl. Drizzle melted butter on top of the chips and toss to evenly coat. Lastly, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and mix until all chips are evenly coated.
Once they’re coated, toast them in the oven for about 5-10 minutes on 300ºF until they are crispy and slightly browned.
Caramelize apples in skillet.
Caramelizing apples is actually a very easy thing to do, it just takes some patience. Start by heating a skillet over medium heat. Adding healthy amount of butter to the skillet (about 4 tablespoons), and allow it to melt down.
Once the butter has melted, add in your chopped apple pieces, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves into the skillet and stir to evenly coat.
Lazily stir the mixture for about 10-15 minutes until the apples have softened and the gooey caramelized syrup thickens.
Make whipped cream cheese dip.
The whipped cream cheese dip truly makes these nachos from good to GREAT! It tastes similar to a piece of apple pie topped with ice cream!
To make the cream cheese dip, you will need an standing electric mixer or a handheld electric mixer. Add cream cheese, whipping cream, vanilla and sugar to a bowl and whisk the mixture on medium speed until stiff peaks form. It should have the consistency of a soft serve ice cream.
Seal and store in the fridge until you are ready to scoop onto your hot apple cinnamon sheet pan nachos.
Assemble Cinnamon Apple Sheet Pan Nachos.
At this point, your sheet pan should just have the crispy cinnamon sugar pita chips spread in a single layer. Pour the caramelized apples over the top of the center pita chips, leaving some room on the edges uncovered.
Add several dollops of whipped cream cheese dip to the top of the nachos. Or you can choose to serve on the side.
Either enjoy straight from the pan or use a spatula to scoop out your personal portions of cinnamon sheet pan nachos. Enjoy!

Tips for caramelizing apples
- Use firm apples for caramelizing. Our favorites are honeycrisp, pink lady or fuji. If you like a more tart apple flavor, granny smith are a great option for these apple sheet pan nachos.
- Do not top with caramelized apples until you’re ready to serve to avoid them getting too soggy. The good thing about pita chips is that they are thick and tend to not get soggy too quickly.
- Best if served really warm out of the oven. If you make the caramelized apples ahead of time, make sure they are warmed up before you pour over the pita chips.

Can I make Cinnamon Apple Sheet Pan Nachos ahead of time?
Yes you can! Store chips, caramelized apples and cream cheese dip separately until you are ready to assemble.
If you made homemade cinnamon sugar pita chips, it is best to make 1-2 days ahead of tie for maximum freshness. Keep them sealed in an airtight plastic bag or container.
The caramelized apples and cream cheese dip can be stored for up to 2 days in an airtight container before serving.
