One simple way we decorate our home when friends and family come over is with a gorgeous table setting. Table settings can seem a bit daunting to put together by the looks of them, so we decided to make them super simple!

Our 5 Step Formula to Set the Table for Any Occasion

Step 1: Add a Table Runner or Table Cloth

Table runners and table cloths are a great way to add warmth to your Christmas table.

Step 2: Add Greenery or Florals 

Whether you choose to add real or faux greenery and florals to your holiday table, they both bring the outdoors in—making a stunning, cozy statement and centerpiece.

Step 3: Add Height with Candlesticks or a Centerpiece

When adding height to your table, you don’t want to be too intrusive for guests as they are visiting around the table. Adding a few short candle sticks, festive votive candles or small bouquets of flowers are perfect!

Step 4: Add Fall Placemats and Tableware

This was always our favorite part of table setting, because it’s where the table truly comes together. There are so many variations of tableware (you’ll see down below) you can add to your holiday table, so get creative and have fun!

Step 5:  Add Placeholders

If you’re particular about seating people at your table or love the idea of everyone have a designated spot for the occasion, add placeholders to your table. Another fun way to seat people is by printing off a photograph of each family member or friend and placing it on their plate.

We love the combination of the green plaid, mini spruce trees and gold candle votives for the centerpiece. The dinnerware is traditional with bits of modern in the silverware and napkins. Plus, the gorgeous stoneware plates with the painted forest add an adorable touch for the holidays.

Minimal design style is all about making a statement thought simple colors and clean lines. We kept the color scheme black and white with a touch of dark forest green for the holidays.

To recreate this look in your space, add a dark green table runner to your dining table. Spread out some holiday garland and some gold candlesticks along the length of the table. 

We kept the dinnerware super simple and clean with a gorgeous white dinner plate, a thin pinstriped napkin, black silverware and placeholders.

We love the adorable blush, whimsical Christmas decor trend that’s been popular in recent years. It’s so girly and fun! This Christmas table setting idea is perfect for a dinner party with friends or for a preteen Christmas party as well!

The key to achieving this look is to mix elements of blush pink, shine and femininity. For the centerpiece, place a crisp white table runner to the table. Add some whimsy greenery, and gold candle holders with white and and blush pink taper candles.

We absolutely love the blush and silver dinnerware combo. To recreate this look, add a round silver placemat, a textured cream dinner plate, and a blush pink napkin wrapped with a crystal studded bow. Add some gold silverware and ribbed coupe glasses to the table as well. Lastly, add these gingerbread placeholders to each assigned seat to complete the look.

We have been obsessed with a more moody interior design style lately, and thought that it would be fun to show you how to a style a Christmas table to emulate this feeling in your space. We also love how cozy this Christmas table setting idea is as well!

To start, add a dark green table runner and holiday garland down the center of your table. Place mix matched gold taper candle holders and cream taper candles to add height to the center of your table. Then, add some gorgeous pine cone shaped candles to add a cozy vibe to the space.

For dinnerware, we wanted to add some richer tones to keep the table setting cozy. Start by layering a deep bronze dinner plate, a white salad plate, a rust plaid napkin and gold silverware. Complete the look with Duval smoke double oil-fashioned glasses.

Ralph Lauren Inspired Christmas Table Setting

We recently took a trip to New York City and visited the Ralph Lauren store. We were so inspired by the elegance and and beauty that we thought it would be a fun idea to create a Ramp Lauren-inspired Christmas table setting!

Ralph Lauren is known for classic, elegant and beautiful touches, so we wanted to stay true to this style while creating this table setting.

Tor recreate the centerpiece, start by adding the green plaid table runner to the table. Run the garland down the center of the table, place a couple ribbed vases and faux, dried hydrangeas in the space and add several burgundy metallic candles. To complete the centerpiece, add gold candle stick holders and white taper candles throughout the other decorations.

This dinnerware is truly the star of the show! It ties everything together and really gives this table setting the classic Ralph Lauren look. Start by layering a dark rattan placemat, a white scalloped dinner plate and a green Ralph Lauren dinner plate to each place at the table.

Lastly, wrap a green velvet bow around each white napkin and gold silverware. Place a Waterfall Stemless Wine Glass at each place setting as well.
