Who is Apotheke?
Apotheke began in founder Chrissy Fichte’s kitchen in Brooklyn, New York. She began formulating home scents and soaps, and quickly grew the brand into the notable luxury candle business it is today.
The company prides itself on creating candles that “transform a house into a home, elevate every mood, and help keep memories alive.” Made with natural fragrances and sustainable resources, these high-quality candles are the perfect addition to a living room coffee table, kitchen counter, or bedside table.
First Impressions
We’re always so impressed by the presentation and quality of Apotheke candles. When we opened the package, the candle was safely encased in a gorgeous dark green box with a raised, shiny ribbon detail running across the box. The attention to detail and luxury does not go unnoticed.
When we opened the box and took the cable out, we audibly gasped at how stunning the vessel was. The dark green reflective material on he outside of the jar ties perfectly into any home or holiday decor. Plus, the silver reflective detail coating on the inside of the jar casts a shimmery glow every time you light the candle.
Scent Profile
One of the first things we look at to decide if we actually will like the scent of a candle is the fragrance notes. We typically don’t gravitate towards woodsy-scented candles, but this one is the only exception we’ve ever made to that rule.
The Juniper Birch candle was crafted with:
- Top — Fresh Juniper Berry (crisp, clean, slightly fruity)
- Middle — Birch Wood (earthy, woodsy, grounding)
- Base — Spice (nostalgic and warm)

In comparison to other retail candle companies we’ve bought over the years, the burn time is half that of Apotheke’s — burning from 25-45 hours.
