We love getting innovative with our wrapping paper choices, ribbons and gift tags. It makes the process so much fun and intentional for each person we’re gifting during the holidays.

Every year, we search Pinterest for new gift wrapping ideas, and this year, we aren’t gatekeeping any of our favorite ideas. We’re sharing how you can recreate each idea and where to shop to copy the looks as well, so you have everything ready and wrapped before Christmas Day.

Tips for Wrapping Gifts

Get Cute Holiday Wrapping Paper

The first step in creating any gift wrapping idea below is to purchase cute holiday wrapping paper. The type of wrapping paper you buy it totally dependent on the look or aesthetic you’re going for. However, using a sturdier wrapping paper will make your life so much easier. This will ensure it doesn’t tear easily when you’re wrapping the corners.

Even if you’re doing the bare minimum when it comes to gift wrapping (aka just wrapping the gift), you’re going to need the wrapping paper of your choice.

Look at the gift wrapping ideas below to shop some of the wrapping paper we recommend.

Wrap Gifts Using This Method

1. Cut Paper to Size

To start, we always like to roll out the wrapping paper, place our box onto and cut the wrapping paper to the size we need. To ensure you have enough paper rolled out, before cutting, wrap the paper around the box until it meets the other side. Make sure there is at least 3 inches of paper on either of the ends as well.

Once you feel good about the size of the paper, but and begin wrapping the box.

2. Wrap the Box

To wrap the box, you’ll want to remember to put the seam of the paper on the bottom. To do this, turn the box over so the bottom is face up. Wrap the paper 1 inch over the long edge of the box, tape and wrap the other long side with the paper and tape.

3. Wrap Ends

Now it’s time to wrap the ends. Fold the ends in a triangle shape, crease and fold the ends of the triangle pieces in to create a cleaner straight edge. Wrap the triangle shape over the edge, to the bottom of the box and tape. Then. Repeat on the other side.

Pro tip: We recommend using double sided tape for a cleaner, seamless look.

4. Add Your Personal Touch

This is when you get to be creative and add your own personal touches to the wrapped gifts. Whether that be a festive ribbon, a cute gift tag or a personalized card — adding your own flare to gift wrapping will create that extra pizzazz.
