A little funny, definitely bone-afied spooky! These homemade Halloween candy chocolate skulls with walnut “brains” are slightly creepy with just the right amount of ridiculous for Halloween. This no-bake dessert is almost way too good to leave sitting on the dessert table during your halloween party.
A mixture of dark, milk, and white chocolate is melted down and poured into skull molds and finished with a walnut half that looks way too much like a brain. You may be slightly hesitant to bite into them, but we promise the hesitation won’t last long!
The different chocolates give a mix of rich, creamy chocolate flavors while the walnut adds a bit of earthy nuttiness to each bite. Just melt, pour, set, and pop them out of their molds to serve. They’re prefect for serving for a halloween celebration or a scary movie night.

- Milk chocolate

How to Make these Halloween Candy Chocolate Skulls
Step 1. Melt chocolates in increments in the microwave.
Before you melt the chocolates, make sure you have your molds set our ready to fill. Pour dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate chips into separate microwave-safe bowls.
Heat each bowl individually in 30 second increments. Stir between each heating to make sure the chocolate melts evenly. When the chocolate is mostly melted and there are only a few chocolate chips left to melt, continue to stir until the chocolate is smooth. Repeat this for the other two chocolate bowls.
Tip: If you’re cooking in batches, reheat just enough chocolate to fill your molds. You can fill four of these Silicone Skull Molds from Amazon perfectly with this recipe.
Step 2. Pour chocolates into molds and top with a walnut for a brain.
When the chocolates are melted, spoon the silky chocolate into the skull molds. Fill them just to the top and place half a walnut into the top while the chocolate is still soft.
Step 3. Chill in the fridge for 2-3 hours and carefully pop the skulls out of the molds to serve.
Carefully place the silicone molds into the fridge. Chill the chocolates for at least 2-3 minutes in the fridge or in the freezer a until the chocolate is solid and set.
Carefully pop the chocolate skulls out of the molds into a serving bowl. Keep chilled until you’re ready to serve.

Tips for Making Homemade Chocolate Skull Candies
- Melt the chocolate in increments. Microwave the dark, milk and white chocolates in separate bowls in 30-second increments. Stir between each round to evenly melt the chips.
- Have fun with the chocolate combinations. Swirl the dark, milk and white chocolates together for a marbled effect.
- Don’t overfill the molds. Fill each mold as closely to the top without overflowing so that you get crisp clean molds. Once you press the walnut into the top, it won’t overflow out the sides.
- Let the chocolates fully harden before removing them from the molds. Refrigerate the filled molds for 2-3 hours until the chocolate is completely firm. When removing the skulls gentle use your thumb to press the chocolate out of the molds.
