Are there areas of your home you wish were more organized? There’s nothing better than the feeling of opening up a pristinely organized cabinet or drawer and getting excited about what’s inside.
We LOVE tea and ever since we saw Khloe Kardashian and Sohia Lee’s tea drawers, we knew we had to do it too! We drink tea almost every night before we go to bed and have a matcha latte at least once a day. Our tea drawer is one of the most opened drawers in our kitchen, and we’d finally had enough of the organized chaos.
The drawer was somewhat organized to begin with. We had tea in the respective boxes, so it wasn’t like it was a complete mess. However, the drawer needed a revamp. We wanted it to be a beautiful display of all our teas, so that when family and friends came over, they could easily find what they wanted as well.
We ordered a few tea organizers (that we’ll show you below), and found some empty Weck jars to hold our loose leaf tea.

5 Tea Storage Tips to Organize Your Tea Drawer
1. Take Inventory of the Tea You Have
The first step in organizing your tea drawer is to take inventory of the tea you already have. Take out all the boxes and canisters of tea, and make sure the tea hasn’t expired. Tea can stay good a long time, however tea powders, like matcha, can go bad sooner than herbal tea. If there are tea bags that have expired, throw them out.
Once you have an idea of how much tea you have to organize, you can decide whether or not you need to go to the store to buy more tea to fill up your organizers.
2. Don’t Spend a Fortune on Organizers
There’s a misconception when organizing your cabinets and drawers at home. Many people think you have to spend a lot of money on the organization boxes and canisters.
While there are brands that do charge an insane amount per container, there are so many cheap options out there. You can look at places like Walmart and Amazon for some super affordable options.
We got this super cheap tea organizer set and used some of our glass Weck jars to organize our tea drawer. The tea organizer fit perfectly in the drawer and provided enough room to fit all our teas!
3. Give Each Type of Tea Bag a Place of It’s Own
When organizing your tea drawer, you want to make sure that each tea bag has it’s own place within the organizer. After taking inventory of the tea we had, we made sure to order enough tea organizers to fit the variety of tea we needed to organize.
As you can see from the pictures above, we made sure that each type of tea had it’s own divider. This is an important step in the organization process, so you don’t mix match tea packets that don’t have labels.
4. Organize Tea Sachets with Labels
We used our label maker to make labels for each type of tea. We had quite a few tea bags without string labels, so this was the perfect way to organize those type of tea bags.
The label maker we used allows you to choose different font types, so you can print a label that fits each tea organizer divider. We placed the label in the organizer, so we could easily read it and select the tea we wanted to drink.
5. Use Weck Jars to Organize Loose Leaf Tea
If you have loose leaf tea in a canister or matcha powder in a package, Weck jars are such a beautiful way of storing the tea and keeping it fresh.
We have loved using Weck jars to store items in our pantry and refrigerator, so the tea drawer was another perfect place to use them as well. If you are looking for a cheaper option to store your loose leaf tea, these containers from Amazon are another great way to store your loose leaf tea.
