Super Green Smoothie

If there is one thing we swear by, it’s our morning routine. After getting up, making our bed, getting ready for work and sauntering into the kitchen, we head towards the fridge to make our super green smoothie.

Over the years, we’ve tried so many different variations of a green smoothie, but we could never find one that we truly loved. One night we were scrolling on TikTok and stumbled upon Olympian and Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Arianne. She was making a green smoothie that was packed with so many fruits and leafy greens. We were curious to see if it would actually taste any good.

Fast forward to today and we’ve been making this super green smoothie everyday for the past three months. It may sound a little crazy, but we actually crave it when we wake up. It gives us such a boost of energy to start our day and makes our gut happy too.

Read on to see how to make the smoothie and the health benefits of the ingredients included in the smoothie.

The Super Green Smoothie We Drink Every Morning

Super Green Smoothie

Here’s what you’ll need to make the smoothie:

  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1 handful of romaine (1-2 leaves)
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1/2 green apple, cored
  • 1/2 anjoulu pear, cored
  • 1/2 banana
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • 2 scoops of collagen powder
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
  • 1/2 inch chunk ginger, peeled
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 cup water or unsweetened nut milk

To make the smoothie, add all the ingredients in a high-speed blender (we use a Vitamix). We recommend adding the water in first, because this helps to blend everything more smoothly.

Blend the ingredients for about a minute on high speed so that it gets a smooth texture. Pour the smoothie in a large cup and add a smoothie straw.

Our Final Thoughts

Coming from two people who did not usually like the green smoothies that were packed with avocado and other odd tasting green powders, we absolutely love this green smoothie recipe. It’s become a staple in our morning routine.

While it is a large smoothie and pretty filling, we find that paring it with a fried or scrambled egg is a great combo. This gets us though the morning, into lunch time without needing a midmorning snack.

We can’t recommend this smoothie enough. It truly is delicious and makes our body feel so good in the morning!

If you try this smoothie, let us know what you think!
