This post is all about ways to decorate for fall on a budget.
10 Easy Ways to Decorate for Fall on a Budget
1. Swap Out Your Sofa Pillows
An easy and affordable way to bring the fall aesthetic into your living room is to buy a few fall themed or warm-toned pillows. They will instantly change the mood and feel of your space—making it feel super cozy. Plus, pillows are items that never go out of style, so you can keep them as decor for years to follow.
2. Buy Local Pumpkins
Instead of filling our home with artificial pumpkins, we love going to our local nursery to buy beautiful pumpkins to place around our house. They will end up being a lot cheaper than buying artificial ceramic or plastic ones.
We prefer the look and aesthetic of real pumpkins too! It makes a space feel curated and has a way of bringing the outdoors in.
3. Place Faux Fall Foliage Around Your Home
We bought these fall stems from Target last year and were obsessed with them, so when we saw they brought them back again this year, we were so excited! They are super inexpensive—only $4.99 a piece. We put a couple in a vase, and it instantly transformed our space.
4. Download Affordable Fall Prints
This is a decor hack we use for every season and holiday! All you have to do is go to Etsy, search for the type of print your looking for, find one you like, buy and download it and send it to your local print shop or Walgreens.
We often buy prints between $2 and $5, and send it off to our local Walgreens. PRO TIP: Make sure you search for any coupons on that Walgreens may be having. We almost always get 40-60% off on prints.
5. Search Target Dollar Section
One of our favorite places to look for cute and affordable fall decor is Target’s dollar section. We’ve scored adorable mugs, candy bowls and decorative accents from there every year. It’s totally worth the look!
6. Create an Ambience with Candles and Scented Pine Cones
Fall is by far our favorite season to invite all the delicious scents in to fill our home. An easy and affordable way to do that is buying a cheap fall candle (we love the scent above) or going to your local grocery store to buy the cinnamon scented pine cones.
These two things will instantly make your home feel cozy and inviting. You’ll never want to leave!
7. Use Cook Books As Decor
When fall rolls around, we swap out our summer recipes with cozy fall recipes. If you have cookbooks already, this is super easy to do! We simply crack open a cookbook to a delicious, autumn recipe and leave it out for display. It creates curated, lived-in look that is super inviting for the fall season.
8. Display Fall Mugs and Dishware
One of the first things we do to decorate our kitchen for fall is to style our coffee bar with fall mugs and our kitchen with fall dishware. The Hearth and Hand line at Target has super affordable, beautiful fall dishes and mugs.
We also recommend checking out local thrift stores or Goodwill, they may have some kitchen items to fit your fall aesthetic too.
9. Create a Cozy Ambience with Your TV
This fall decor hack is totally free, and something we do all the time to give out home a cozy fall feel. Whether we’re in our home office or in our living room, we love turning on a crackling fire Youtube video on the TV. The video will play for 3+ hours on your TV, and always has a way of making your space feel warm and cozy—despite it not being a real fire.
10. Add a Cozy Blanket
Target is one of our favorite places to find affordable, cozy blankets. In the fall we look for blankets that are neutral or have warmer tones. Adding either type of blanket to the space will instantly make it feel warm and cozy!
