homemade pizza three ways

Pizza is a main food group, right?! Well, we are calling it one because we always need an excuse for a slice of pizza each week. Maybe that is why we have coined the term “Pizza Friday” so that we have an excuse to have a slice.

We’re serving up pizza three ways with a mix of traditional and unconventional flavors, perfect for your next gathering!

Call us crazy, but this Mac and Cheese pizza is insane! The pizza and pasta combo will blow your mind. Our mac and cheese pizza is topped with easy homemade yogurt Alfredo sauce, cavatappi pasta and a mixture of parmesan and mozzarella cheese.

We also threw in some of our other favorite flavors, like our traditional margarita pizza recipe and our go-to ultimate veggie pizza recipe.

The margarita pizza is topped with fresh tomatoes, sliced mozzarella and basil leaves. The simplicity of this pizza is often overlooked, but the flavors of the fresh ingredients are always unmatched. The ultimate veggie pizza is also a solid option for a crowd. We are always looking for ways to add veggies to our meals, so why not on a pizza!

No matter the occasion–whether it is a night in watching movies or making a pizza platter for your next get-together–pizza is always a perfect choice!

This post is all about homemade pizza three ways.

Homemade Pizza Three Ways

What’s in this recipe?

For all of these pizzas, we used this pizza dough from Whole Foods. Whole foods prepares grab-and-go pizza dough in their refrigerated take-out section ever day, which makes making pizza at home super simple. It’s our favorite dough for making pizzas, but you can also make you dough homemade or use a store-bought dough mix.

Margarita

  • Fresh mozzarella slices
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Marinara sauce
  • Basil

Ultimate Veggie:

  • Olive oil – We love using olive oil as a dressing on our veggie pizzas. It seems to bring out the flavor of the veggies more. When we used a marinara sauce, the tomato flavor seemed to overpower the veggie’s flavor.
  • Chopped fresh veggies
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

Mac and Cheese:

  • Light Alfredo sauce: We made a homemade Alfredo sauce with yogurt, parmesan cheese and Italian seasonings. This light version of a normal Alfredo sauce adds a burst of fresh flavor.
  • Cavatappi pasta: We found cavatappi pasta seems to work the best on this pizza. The curly shape and texture pairs perfectly on top of a slice of pizza.
  • Shredded Parmesan and mozzarella cheese: A light sprinkle of these two cheeses on top of the pasta make for the perfect blend on this mac and cheese pizza.
