Keeping our apartment clean is one of our top priorities. We cannot stand a dirty house, let alone a few dishes in the sink. Having an apartment of our own has made us obsessed with making sure things stay clean, and in all honesty, cleaning our apartment is so therapeutic.
We are going to be showing you all the products you need to clean your home or apartment. These are cleaning products we swear by and use either on a daily basis, or just about every week to clean our home thoroughly.

Basic Cleaning Supplies for Your Apartment
1. Supply Bucket
We have a Supply Bucket that holds most of our cleaning supplies. It has made cleaning our spaces so much easier, because we can just move the bucket from room to room as we clean. It’s also a great way to keep your cleaning products organized!
2. Microfiber Cloths
Microfiber cloths are one of our favorite essential cleaning supplies. They have been proven to pick up 99% of bacteria from surfaces! Isn’t that incredible?! Another handy tool for dusting and cleaning surfaces is a duster. Dusters are perfect for helping you clean your blinds, fans and other hard to read surfaces.
3. Duster
We have an affordable Dirt Devil Vacuum and love it! It is pretty good quality for the amount you pay for it, and easily fits in a coat closet or laundry room.

5. Swiffer Mop
Another must-have for cleaning our wood floors is a Swiffer. We grew up helping our mom clean our house and one of our favorite things to do was help her clean the floors with the Swiffer (mostly because we could slide around the house singing as we did it).
6. Broom
The last product that we can’t live without is a broom. It’s a basic product, but another must-have to clean your floors!
Kitchen Cleaning Products
Despite this most likely being an unpopular opinion, we love cleaning the kitchen! These essential cleaning supplies for your kitchen are items we always like to keep on hand.
7. All-Purpose Spray
EverSpring All Purpose Cleaning Spray has become our new favorite surface spray. They come in some amazing scents and the ingredients are natural, which is always a bonus!
8. Stainless Steel Cleaner
Next, to clean your stainless-steel appliances, we recommend using Weiman stainless-steel cleaner. This way, your appliances won’t have a streaky residue that may appear with other surface cleaners. Your appliances will be so shiny and look like new!
9. Good Quality Dish Soap
We use William Sonoma’s Dish Soap to clean our dishes. It is a bit of a pricier item for what it’s used for, but we find that when we use a dish soap that has a wonderful smell, it makes cleaning dishes more fun! We genuinely look forward to washing the dishes, because we get to use such an amazing product.
10. Brillo Steel Wool Pads
Another item we recommend having handy are Brillo Steel Wool Pads. These will help you easily clean off stubborn grime and food that sticks on your dishes.
Bathroom Cleaning Products
We always debate about who is going to clean the bathroom each time. It’s definitely not a room we ever desire to clean, but it has to be done or we will go crazy.
11. Bathroom Grime Cleaner
The first bathroom essential cleaning supplies on our list is Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Grime Cleaner. This removes all the grime that’s stuck in your shower or in between tile grout. It works like a charm and leaves your shower and bath squeaky clean.
12. Multi Surface Cleaner
To clean our sinks and toilet, we use Lysol multi-surface cleaner. There are so many uses for it, but it is our staple when cleaning these areas of our bathroom. We just pour a little in our sinks and toilet and scrub the surfaces.
13. Windex for Mirrors
We use Windex to clean our mirrors and shower glass. If you have a window in your bathroom, you can use it to clean it also!
14. Rubber Glovers
Lastly, rubber gloves are item that is needed when cleaning your bathroom. It makes the process more sanitary for you. You can buy these for super cheap!
Laundry Cleaning Essentials
There is nothing like a fresh load of laundry. Washing clothes may seem like a chore to people, but it’s so refreshing to us! We love the process of washing the clothes, moving them to the dryer and then taking out the warm, fresh-scented load.
15. Gentle Laundry Detergent
Our first cleaning product to share is our favorite Seventh Generation gentle laundry detergent. We prefer to use a detergent with more natural ingredients, because it leaves out perfumes and other strong chemicals that could irritate your skin.
16. Laundry Beads
The Unstoppable Refresh Laundry Beads are our favorite thing to add to a load of laundry. It doesn’t matter what you are washing or how smelly your clothes are, these beads make your clothes smell so refreshing!
17. Fabric Softener
This Seventh Generation fabric softener adds another element of freshness to each load of laundry. We love adding it in, because there is a noticeable difference when we do.
18. SHOUT Stain Remover
Our last laundry product is SHOUT Stain Remover. We love this stain remover in particular, because it has a scrubby head attachment. This feature allows you to scrub the stain from your clothes as much as you can before washing it. We don’t think there has ever been a stain that we haven’t been able to remove when using Shout!
Cleaning Products for Other Spaces in Your Home
We thought we would include some bonus essential cleaning supplies for you. These cleaning products are also ones we use on a regular basis to keep other rooms in our home feeling fresh.
19. Pledge Dusting Spray
Growing up, our mom always put us in charge of dusting surfaces. She always used Pledge, and it is honestly the best thing to dust any surface. We use microfiber cloths (that we mentioned above), spray some on the cloth and dust away!
20. Room Spray
We have used this Hearth and Hand room spray for the past couple of months and are obsessed with it! We love all the scents they make. It makes your space smell so amazing. We are never going back to Febreeze!
21. Swiffer Wet and Dry Pads
If you have a Swiffer to clean your apartment, then you’ll need to buy these wet and dry pads. Swiffers are so handy, because they reach underneath hard to reach places, like your TV console or side tables.
22. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers may be our favorite essential cleaning supplies. They truly are magic. We use them to clean tough grime in our kitchen sink, in our oven and stove top and bathroom. You can even use magic erasers to clean your white tennis shoes. They literally get rid of dark marks and grime on so many surface types!
23. Essential Oil Diffuser
This diffuser is on the pricer side, but we find that spending a little bit more on a diffuser reassures us we won’t have to buy as many over the years. We know this one will last for multiple years! It’s perfect for burning essential oils!
