Description

A yummy fall take on grilled cheese! Cranberry walnut bread toasted in sage-infused butter, layered with creamy gouda cheese and a spread of sweet, spiced pumpkin butter.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices walnut bread
  • 24 tbsp pumpkin butter
  • 2 slices gouda cheese
  • Sage leaves
  • 2 tbsp butter


Instructions

  1. Heat skillet over medium heat. Melt butter and toss in sage leaves. Let them simmer for a couple minutes.
  2. Place one of the bread slices on the hot skillet, butter side down. Add 2-4 slices of gouda cheese. Spread a thin layer of pumpkin butter on the second slice and place it pumpkin-butter-side-down on the sandwich. Gently spread some extra butter on the top piece of bread.
  3. Flip sandwich when cheese has started to melt and bread has started to brown and get crispy. It should take about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. Cook until other side is golden brown and cheese has melted through. Drizzle with sage butter from the pan. Slice and serve.
