This post is all about puff pastry appetizers.

Easy Puff Pastry Appetizers

Whether you want to make all three puff pastry appetizers or just one, we’re going to break it down and show you how to make each flavor.

Easy Puff Pastry Appetizers

What’s in Each Appetizer?

Spinach Feta Puff Pastry Bites:

Garlic: The garlic is minced and sautéed for a few minutes until fragrant.

Green Onions: The green onions are thinly sliced and sautéed with the garlic until fragrant.

Avocado Mayo: A thin layer of avocado mayo is added to the puff pastry squares to add a tangy flavor.

Spinach: The spinach is sautéed with the garlic and green onions until it’s wilted. Then the spinach mixture is added to the puff pastry squares.

Feta: Feta pairs beautifully with the spinach, garlic and onions and is crumbled on the puff pastry square.

Pepper: A crack of pepper is added to the filling for a hint of spice.

Puff Pastry: The puff pastry is thawed, rolled out, and cut into 12 even squares.

Egg: An egg is beaten and brushed on top of the puff pastry.

Prosciutto Provolone Puff Pastry Twists:

Dijon Mustard: The dijon adds a warm flavor to the pastry twists.

Worcestershire Sauce: The Worcestershire sauce is mixed with the mustard and adds a delicious flavor to the appetizer.

Prosciutto: We absolutely love prosciutto. It’s such a flavorful, light meat that pairs beautifully with the provolone.

Provolone: We sliced the provolone into small pieces and swirled it with the prosciutto in the pastry dough.

Puff Pastry: We slice the puff pastry into thin strips vertically and then cut them in half to make mini twists.

Sesame and Poppy Seeds: The Prosciutto Provolone Puff Pastry Twists are topped with sesame and poppy seeds for a flavorful crunch.

Egg: An egg is beaten and brushed on top of the puff pastry.

Rosemary Berry Cream Cheese Puff Pastry Rolls:

Cream Cheese: We slightly softened the cream cheese in the microwave for about 20 seconds and then spread a thin layer on the puff pastry dough.

Wild Berry Preserves: On top of the cream cheese layer we spread a thin layer of wild berry preserves. We love using Bon Maman fruit preserves in our recipes. They are so delicious!

Rosemary: We removed the rosemary stems and lightly pressed them to extract some of the oils—making it more flavorful as it bakes.

Puff Pastry: We thawed and rolled out the puff pastry dough, added the layers of filling and rolled the dough, starting at the longer edge. Then we cut the dough into 1 inch rolls (like you would cinnamon rolls).

Egg: An egg is beaten and brushed on top of the puff pastry.

How to Make the Puff Pastry Appetizers

Spinach Feta Puff Pastry Bites:

To start, you’ll need a small sauce pan (we love this one). In the sauce pan, add a tablespoon of olive oil, garlic and green onions. Sauté the garlic and green onion until fragrant. Then add a whole bag of spinach and mix in until the spinach is wilted. Remove from heat and set the filling aside.

Roll out your thawed puff pastry dough and cut into 12 even squares. In the center of each square add a thin layer of avocado mayo, sprinkle a bit of feta, add a spoonful of the spinach-onion-garlic mixture and top with a bit more feta.

Fold the edges of the puff pastry around the center filling, brush with egg wash and bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Serve fresh out of the oven for you and your guests to enjoy!

Prosciutto Provolone Puff Pastry Twists:

To start, you’ll want to make the mustard filling. In a small mixing bowl, whisk the mustard and Worcestershire Sauce together.

Then, roll out your thawed puff pastry dough and spread on a thin layer of the mustard mixture.  Add a layer of provolone cheese slices and then prosciutto on top. Using a pizza cutter, cut thin slices vertically.

To make the beautiful twisty shape, fold the dough down on one end, and twist the dough and filling, folding the other end down to hold the shape. Twist the rest of the dough strips and transfer them to a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet.

Brush the twists with egg wash and sprinkle poppy seeds and sesame seeds on top. Bake the twists for 15 minutes! Then serve out of the oven.

Rosemary Berry Cream Cheese Puff Pastry Rolls:

These rosemary berry cream cheese rolls may be our favorite on the list! They are so delicious afresh tasting!

To start, soften your cream cheese in the microwave for 20 seconds. You don’t want it super soft, but just enough to make it spreadable.

Then roll out your thawed puff pastry dough, spread a thin layer of cream cheese, a thin layer of wild berry preserves, and sprinkle with freshly chopped rosemary.

Starting at the long end of the pastry dough, roll the dough like you would cinnamon rolls. Then, using. Ashram knife, cut the rolled dough into 1 inch rolls. Place them on a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet, brush with egg wash and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

We absolutely love these puff pastry rolls. They make a delicious party appetizer and brunch finger food!
