We’ve talked all about girl bedroom designs, but this post is all about BOYS! It was super fun and special designing these boy bedrooms. Although they are fictional spaces, the floor plans and bedroom themes can totally be recreated in a home.
When it comes to designing a space for a young boy, we take into account interests, color palette and functionality for a kid. We chose a different personality and color scheme for each room—making each one super unique.
If your son is in need of a bedroom transformation that they can grow into, we’ve got you covered! We’re confident these boy bedroom design ideas will make inspire you to create a stunning, fun room your son will never want to leave!

4 Super Cool and Modern Boy Bedrooms
1. Cool Blue Boys Room
There’s nothing more classic and calming than a blue boys bedroom. We wanted to keep this design simple, but have fun with color as well.
The statement in the room is the beautiful blue vertical grass cloth wallpaper. Grasscloth wallpaper normally runs horizontally, but we love how this one adds a unique twist on the classic wallpaper, by running vertical.
While the rest of the pallet and white and neutral tones, we wanted to add another pop of color that tied in with the art piece—which was a gorgeous bright yellow. We absolutely love how it pairs so well.
In the window nook, we added a built-in desk/bench combo. This provides space for him to work on homework during the school year, and a space to lounge and read books on the bench to the right.
As far as additional storage for toys and books, we added a floating cabinet opposite of the bed. With the TV centered, we added two floating shelves on either side of the TV for additional storage.

2. “Game Boy” Room
We love this bedroom design idea! We can just imagine this room would be perfect for the boy who loves to game—LOL!
We added some fun black and white linear wallpaper to the walls that keep the space bright and modern. For the pop of color in this room, we chose a deep red color. We love how it compliments the black and white accents around the room.
For storage in this modern boys bedroom, we chose a built in. On one side is a large wardrobe for clothes or toy storage, and on the right is his “game station”. We positioned a small bench at the end of the bed to create a space for sit and play video games.
We absolutely love how this room turned out!

3. Green Dream Boys Bedroom
We’re calling this the Green Dream Boys Room, because it’s such a light airy space for a kid to dream, play and have fun, while keeping the main color theme in the room a dark green.
We added an abstract, vertical green and white wallpaper to the walls, and grounded the space with a large, dark green rug. We kept the rest of the furniture pieces a variation of white and added pops of color rough throw pillows and decor.
Instead of traditional nightstand table lamps, we opted for hanging two dome pendant light fixtures over each nightstand. We absolutely love the free floating look of them—keeping with the dreamy, airy theme for the room.

4. Color Pop Boys Bedroom
We saved the best for last! We weren’t expecting this room to turn out so good, but we are slightly obsessed with how it turned out!
This is by far the moodiest room of them all, but it somehow still feels like a large, fun space for a boy to grow into!
We added a dark navy patterned wallpaper to all the walls and kept the other major furniture pieces and built-ins white. For a pop of color we made orange the accent. We were inspired by the color combo in the art piece we placed above the bed.
For storage, we added a custom TV unit with shelving on one side and an L-shaped bench on the other side of the room. We thought the seating and table space was a perfect place to play with toys or work on homework.
We softened the space with white curtains, a large cream rug, light linens on the bed and lighter grey accents.
We can just imagine all the fun time that would be spent in this room!
