Adding homemade dried orange garland adds a pop of color and freshness to any space.

  • Total Time: 3 hours 1 minutes
  • Yield: 1 strand 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 oranges
  • 1 spool yarn
  • 1 needle (to poke yarn through the orange slices)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Slice your oranges into 1/4 inch slices and pat dry with a paper towel to remove some of the moisture.
  3. Line the baking sheet with sliced oranges in one layer on the pan.
  4. Place the baking sheets in the oven. Cooked until edges are slightly brown.
  5. Allow orange slices to cool on baking sheet or baking rack for several hours. You want to make sure the orange slices are dry.
  6. Using your twine and a needle, thread the twine through both sides of a slice. Make your strand as long as you would like with the dried orange slices you have.
  7. Decorate your space with the garland. The garland will last all season long.
