Slow Cooker Taco Meat
- 1/2 lb thawed chicken breast
- 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tbsp oregano
- 1/2 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbs cumin
- 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsbp chili powder
- 1 white or yellow onion, chopped
- 1 cup mild salsa
Toppings for Tacos
- 1 pkg butter leaf lettuce
- cilantro
- sliced avocado
- feta cheese
- 1 squirt lime juice
Instructions
- Mix seasoning together until combined.
- Rub seasoning mixture on both sides of your chicken breasts. Place them in the bottom of your slow cooker. Add chopped onion and salsa. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
- When finished cooking, remove as much of the extra liquid as you can. Shred meat with fork.
- Remove leafs from the butter lettuce head.
- Layer each lettuce leaf with shredded chicken, lettuce, avocado, feta cheese, cilantro and lime juice.
- Add a lime slice for garnish. Enjoy!
Notes
*You can certainly make these tacos and use tortillas as the taco shell. It’s your choice, and either version is delicious!
