Here are 8 affordable ways to refresh your bedroom.

Every spring we always get the urge —the urge to refresh our bedroom, that is. Maybe it’s something that comes over us, or maybe it’s something in the crisp, sunny spring air, but some fresh bedding, some new sheets and a few extra touches always seem to calm our spirits.

Refreshing our bedroom has always been something that excites us this time of year. However the one thing that’s not so exciting is the price tag on some items. In an attempt to refresh our space this month, we found that adding some new items and swapping out others didn’t have to break the bank.

If you’re looking for simple, affordable ways to refresh your bedroom, here’s everything you need to know.

A new throw pillow could be anywhere between $10-$30+ and makes all the difference. Anytime we feel like our bedroom needs something different, we immediately start with swapping out our pillows.

A couple gallons of paint can completely transform a room. Bedrooms are a great space to have fun with color. Whether you want to brighten the space with a warm white or create a moody feel with a dark mauve color, paint will be your best friend.

Plus, it’s something you can do in one weekend. Gather your supplies and a couple of friends and you’ll have it done in no time.

4. Hang New Art

One our favorite decorating hacks is buying downloadable art prints and hanging them in our space. Etsy has so many beautiful options to choose from. Here’s how you can add the stunning art pieces to your space for less than $30:

Find the art print(s) you want to purchase. If you’re looking for art prints to match your vintage cottage core aesthetic, search “cottage core art prints” on Etsy. Select the ones you want to purchase. A majority of downloadable prints could be anywhere from $1-$10.

  • Purchase and Download. Next, purchase and download the art prints from Etsy, onto your computer. They should give you several different files to choose from. The files will have different ratios of prints. You can use these to determine which art print file you need to select for your frame.
  • Print at Your Local Print Store. We always order our prints at Walgreens. We can almost always find a discount code, which makes it even cheaper.
  • Frame and Install. Once you have your prints, it’s time to frame them and hang them on the wall. Frame each print, map our where they will go on the wall and then hang them accordingly.

There’s just something so rewarding about refinishing a piece of furniture. Once you’ve completed your hard work, the refinished piece will seem like it’s a new piece of furniture, but you spent very little money transforming it.

There are several ways you could refinish a piece of furniture. How you decide to do so, is totally up to you, the time you have, and the work you want to put into it. Here are some options:

  • Swap out the hardware
  • Paint the piece of furniture
  • Strip, sand and stain the piece to it’s natural wood grain
  • Strip, sand and paint the piece of furniture

7. Add a New Candle to Your Space

Even if you don’t do anything else on this list, we recommend doing this one thing!

There’s just something so refreshing about burning a new candle in your bedroom. It sets the mood in a space and makes it feel more inviting. Plus, it’s super affordable way to add a new element to your space without changing the things you love and want to stay the same.

Here are some of our favorite candles:

8. Hang Curtains

Hanging curtains in our bedroom was a game changer. It totally transformed the feel of room and added so much coziness and character. Whether you want a brighter, white curtain or a darker, moodier blackout curtain, once you hang them in your room, you’ll instantly notice how much it can change the vibe of your room.

We like to think of hanging curtains in the same way we thing of putting jewelry on. You don’t necessarily have to wear jewelry to make your outfit pop, but adding earrings or a necklace elevates the look. You don’t have to add curtains to your windows, but when you do, they instantly transform the feel of your room.

This post is all about 8 affordable ways to refresh your bedroom.
