- Mini Ritz Bitz peanut butter crackers
- Milk chocolate chips
- Coconut oil
- Holiday sprinkles
How to Make Ritz Cracker Candy: Step By Step
Step 1: Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil.
There are a couple easy ways to melt chocolate. We recommend either using a double boiler or the microwave. Be sure to add a small amount of coconut oil to the chocolate (doesn’t take much) for a super smooth meted chocolate. Here’s some tips for melting chocolate.
- Use a double boiler to melt chocolate. This is the best way get smooth melted chocolate without it burning. Once the water in the pot is boiling, add the chocolate chips into the top pan of the double boiler with 1/2 tsp of coconut oil. Continue to stir chocolate as it melts. Once it is nice and smooth, you’re ready to dunk your crackers.
- Use the microwave to melt chocolate. If you don’t have a double boiler, or want less clean-up time, we recommend using the microwave. Heat chocolate chips and in 30 seconds increments, stirring between each heating. Once the chocolate is completely melted and smooth, your’e ready for coating the crackers.

Step 2: Dunk crackers in chocolate.
Remove the pot from heat and drop 5-8 mini crackers in the pot at a time. Dunk them in the chocolate and use a fork to spoon out the crackers, letting excess chocolate drip off before placing on a wax-paper-lined baking sheet.
While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle the tops of the crackers with sprinkles.
Repeat until all crackers are coated.
Step 3: Chill and enjoy.
Waiting is the hardest part! Once all your crackers are coated in chocolate and lined on the lined baking sheet, chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes until hardened.
Once the chocolate has created a hard shell, peel them off the parchment paper and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10-14 days.

Tips to Avoid Burning Chocolate
- Use a double boiler. Instead of heating chocolate straight over the heat, the double boiler melts the chocolate over boiling water. This allows for a more even heat and melting process.
- Heat in microwave in 30 second increments. Stir between each heating and just until the chocolate has melted.
- Stir constantly! You may have hot spots on your pan that get warmer than others. That is why it is important to keep circulating the heat
Try other Variations
- Sprinkle with Sea Salt
- Top with Toffee Bits
- Sprinkle with Crushed Pretzels for additional saltiness
- Try different chocolates: Dark, White Chocolate, White chocolate peppermint chips
