The Inspiration Behind These Cookies

Several years ago, we started making holiday cookie boxes to our neighbors and friends. We loved the process of baking the cookies and then showing our friends how much we cared for them.

The assortment of cookies included these M&M cookies, and they became a staple to include every year. Our friends would request them all the time, so we knew we had created something pretty special.

What’s in the M&M Cookies?

Brown Sugar: The brown sugar makes these cookies super moist and delicious. There is molasses in brown sugar, so when it bakes and reacts with baking soda, the cookie gets more puffy.

Vanilla Instant Pudding: The addition of the instant pudding in these cookies makes the Christmas M&M cookies softer.

Holiday M&M’s: Since these are festive for Christmas, we of course added the holiday M&Ms to the dough. Feel free to use any color of M&M you would like!

What Is Instant Pudding Mix Used for in Baking?

You may have heard of adding instant pudding mix to cakes and cookies before. We think that the addition is genius and delicious. We love eating a soft and chewy cookie, the instant pudding helps to create one.

The addition of instant pudding in cookies makes them softer. When baking with instant pudding mix, your cookies won’t be as tough and crispy.
