During the holiday season, our favorite place to gather with friends and family is the living room. Every year we deck out the space with Christmas decor — everything from the Christmas tree in the corner or the fireplace mantle. We’re pretty sure a right of passage into adulthood is when you get excited about decorating your home for every season.
Every year, I’m tasked with decorating the coffee table. It’s become one of my favorite places to decorate. There’s some simple swaps of every day items we make and we also add some decorative Christmas items to the table as well.
It’s all about playing with the height and position of items while making it festive for the holiday season. 8 Cozy Christmas Coffee Table Decor Ideas
1. Add a Vase
If you don’t already have a vase on your coffee table, we highly recommend it. It’s the perfect place to swap out your fall florals for winter greenery. Plus, it adds height and character to the space as well.
For Christmas, we either stick with a neutral vase we already have or shop for a festive Christmas vase to add to the table.

2. Fill a Vase with Winter Greenery or Winter Berries
One of the easiest ways you can instantly change the aesthetic of your space for a new season is transitioning your greenery or florals for the coming holiday or season. For Christmas, we recommend sticking with winter greenery, berry stems or winter florals.

3. Add Small Christmas Decor Items
Adding small Christmas decorative items to your table is a great way to pull together the aesthetic, color scheme or theme of your Christmas decor. Everything from small Christmas trees, golden bells, or gingerbread houses.

4. Incorporate Natural Winter Elements
Bringing in natural elements into any space brings the outdoors in for the holidays. You can do this by adding some mini cinnamon pine cones or walnuts to a decorative bowl.

5. Add a Cozy Christmas Candle
During the holidays, our house needs to smell like a gingerbread cookie or peppermint twists. If we adding nothing else to our coffee table for Christmas, we would be totally content with a Christmas candle burning all day long. It adds a cozy warm glow to your living room and makes your space smell like a winter wonderland.

6. Add a Mini Table Lamp
We absolutely love the idea of adding a mini table lamp to a coffee table. It’s something unexpected, but looks adorable with the rest of the Christmas decor. You can place a mini lamp on top of a couple of coffee table books or as is on your table to illuminate your table in the evenings.

7. Swap Everyday Coasters with Holiday Coasters
Another super easy and inexpensive way to add a festive touch to your coffee table is to tap your everyday coasters with some holiday coasters. Whether they are snowflake coasters or red and green Christmas coasters, you can choose which one will match your holiday decor aesthetic.

8. Tie Coffee Table Books with Ribbon
We are obsessed with this Christmas coffee table decor idea! It’s such a simple DIY Christmas hack that will elevate your coffee table for the holidays. Simply tie your coffee table books with velvet or decorative ribbon of your choosing. What you end up with are a bundle of books that are tied up like a Christmas present.
