A nostalgic combo of two childhood favorites: Lucky Charms and Rice Krispie Treats! These lucky charms rice krispie treats are guaranteed to take you right back to childhood. Each cereal treat square is packed with a blend of lucky charms and rice krispie cereal, held together with an extra gooey, buttery marshmallow fluff.
These cereal treats are one of our go-to’s party treats when we are on a time crunch. They are seriously so simple and take just 15 minutes to make. And you will likely have a majority, if not all of the ingredients on hand!

Can you substitute marshmallows for marshmallow fluff?
We recommend you don’t do this for a couple reasons. For starters, we found the pre-made marshmallow creme or fluff can result in a dryer cereal treat, rather than a gooey one! Secondly, the mixture of the mini marshmallows, butter and vanilla add so much more flavor to the treats.
Tips for Success:
How long can you keep homemade rice krispie treats?
If these last more than a couple hours (Ha!) , they will be good at room temperature, in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
We have a couple sets of these glass airtight and leak proof containers and they are amazing for storing any left overs.
Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Cereal Treats
Description
Quick and easy homemade lucky charms rice krispie treats with lots of super gooey marshmallow cream!
Ingredients
1 stick salted butter
2 16 oz bags mini marshmallows
3 cups rice krispies cereal
6 cups lucky charms cereal
1 tsp vanilla bean paste/vanilla extract
Instructions
- Start by lightly grease a 9×13 pan with 1 tbsp softened butter and line with parchment paper.
- In a dutch oven over medium heat, melt butter until bubbly and golden. Pour in your marshmallows and stir with rubber spatula until completely melted. CAREFUL not to overcook! They melt quickly!
- Once melted, remove the mixture from the heat and add in vanilla. Mix to incorporate. Pour your rice krispies and lucky charms into the pot and stir until evenly incorporated. Remove from heat.
- Quickly, pour the krispie mixture in your greased pan and press down. (Tip: Lightly wet or grease your hands and press the into the pan until evenly filled.)
- Cover with foil or plastic wrap and chill in the freezer for about 15 minutes or at room temperature for about an hour to set before cutting.
Notes
Note: If you are not using salted butter, add in 1/4 tsp salt into the melting marshmallows.
